My Story

(a.k.a my work experiences and education)

Nov 7th, 1995
An Giang, Vietnam
- Where it all began
I was born in a small city in Vietnam and raised by two loving parents. Rich in history and home to beautiful landscapes and various ethnicities, my hometown An Giang inspired me to tell stories through art and work with different cultures.
2013 - 2015
Can Tho University
- Studied International Business

In 2013, I moved to another city to study International Business at Can Tho University. While participating in the university’s events and class activities, I discovered my passion for graphic design.

2015 - 2016
Arts, Design and Creativity Academy
- Studied Graphic Design
After deciding to pursue my passion, I moved to one of the biggest cities in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City. There, I transferred to ADC Academy and shifted to a new course: graphic design.

This academy is a wonderful place to bring out the artist in you. I learned design thinking, art history, typography, layout, drawing, photography, and many other design-related subjects.

I also met the love of my life here–Thach Tran. We are still happily together since 2015.
2016 - 2017
Labore Cosmetic Company
- Got my first graphic design job
In 2016, I got my first job as a graphic designer at Labore Cosmetic Company. There, I met Mr. Quan–my first mentor who helped me develop essential design skills. He continues to be a huge influence on my style to this day. Below is one of my most outstanding works from that time.
Jun - Dec 2017
Merci Nails Store and Saigon Cooking Class
- Was a graphic designer for 2 brands
In 2017, I designed for 2 brands: Merci Nails Store and Saigon Cooking Class. In addition to the daily work of a graphic designer (such as designing social ads and brand materials), I learned more about art and food photography.

I worked directly with a French employer, Ilda Briosca. Thanks to her, I’ve been known for a strong work ethic and learned how to highlight brand personality in designs. Ilda communicated with me in 100% English, helping significantly improve my skills in the language. This experience laid the groundwork for my future remote career at an American company.

Design Training Applications (DPI)
- Studied User Experience Design
After discovering a passion for website and app design, I took a UI/UX course at DPI Center. This is where I learned the fundamentals of user interface and user experience.

I completely immersed myself in this new career path. That’s why I spent months practicing and doing my personal projects. One of the projects I’m most proud of is the Korean Learning App, which you can see below.
March 2018 - August 2022
🚀 BIG MOMENT
Alpha Lion Holdings
- Became a Creative Director / UI UX Designer
This is one of the biggest events in my journey. I worked remotely for Alpha Lion Holdings for nearly 5 years! I learned many things from my colleagues and our CEO, Billy Buckles.

Billy gave me the opportunity to learn whatever I wanted. He challenged me to go beyond my limits and taught me many things about e-commerce, running a business, data analytics, launching ads, and other digital marketing skills. I wouldn’t be who I am today without him.

At this company:

- I was responsible for the entire design, build, and completion of the user interface for 5 e-commerce brands and 3 Shopify apps.

- I collaborated with the CEO to troubleshoot UX problems, launch A/B testing, and improve user engagement.

- I led a team of 4 people, including a photographer, a graphic designer, and 2 developers.

- I also designed graphic content, packaging, email campaigns, social media ads, and all other marketing materials.
One of the things I’m most proud of having done in my career? Building a kitchenware brand called Rainforest Bowls. I worked with Billy to source the products in my country, Vietnam, and export them to the US. We built it from scratch (came up with the branding, built the website, took photos, etc.). Currently, Rainforest Bowls products are available on all US marketing platforms. I’m proud to say that the company is a huge success right now.
Today

Today, I’m on a journey to pursue my new career goal: becoming an independent designer. I’m working as a freelancer now, trying to explore as many design styles in every field.
